I have a 89 200 v6 I just started, it had set for about 2 yrs., I cleaned carbs, replaced water, fuel filter, gone through with fine tooth comb to make sure everything is ok, hooked up the hose today, and it started right up. but got no water spitting from upper exhaust and tattle tail pisser either, had almost instant water pressure. Worry something might be wrong or should I take down to river and give it a try. Could something be pluged or stuck?
any help would be great.

Re: cooling while flushing

You might not get much water out of the exhaust ports because the exhaust housing is empty, but you should get water out of the tell_tale. Use a piece of weed wacker string, or something similar, and clean out the tell-tale. Doing it with the engine running is sometimes easier. You could remove the hose for the tell-tale at the fitting on the block and make sure water is coming that far.
I wouldn't run it on the river until you have the tell-tale working to make sure the water pump is working properly.

Thanks, I was actually thinking of trying to stick the end of a zip tie up there and see, I'll let you know what I find.
