They are fairly soft, some use a awl or punch to poke a small hole in them and then pry them out. I use a small drill bit and drill a hole in them and then pry them out with a small punch.
Place them with the dome up and use a flat punch a little smaller than the plug size, and flatten them out, don't go past flat or they might leak.
