Re: Cored hull and wood brand?
I was at the Pursuit factory several hrs watching boats being built...probably in 1999 or 2000. They were using untreated plywood for all their cores, bulkhead and stringers (box stringers). I saw hulls and decks from several models but was specfically there to watch over a 24'cc being laminated (a defective hull was cut from it's deck and a new hull being laminated and reglassed to the original deck). I was actually hired by the disgruntled owner to watch his "new" hull being glassed. There were no Greenwood Products or composite board used anywhere. I asked the shop manager why they didn't use composites. He said composite board wasn't cost effective. They used fabmat in the hull sides...Bayliners, etc use fabmat too. When Pursuit said they had composite stringers it meant wood with glass over it. I don't know what they do now but in 1991 you can bet they used standard issue ply for all the cores, etc.
...and the hulls were not cored. They were single skin glass with stringer laid on top. Only the decks are cored with ply.
