cork float in older gastank

Any ideas on a sinking cork float. , can these be dried out, coated with something that is gas resistant and be reused.??? also is there a better alternative to cork. im stumped !!!

I know you can buy a new sender with the float for around $30 bucks or so. Is the cork sinking or is the arm sticking?

As turborich said, replace it with a new sender. Todays fuels have played havoc on those old cork floats.
