I have a 2001 Yamaha 40 hp 4 stroke engine. I want to put a battery switch in the circuit so I can turn off all electric when I leave the boat at the dock. Will any quality name brand switch work or must I get one that will protect the alternator in case the switch is turned off while the engine is still running?
