Hi ,

I'd like to convert my Nissan M9.9D 2-stroke outboard to the 15hp version by changing the throttle advance cam.
On Internetoutboards, It says the Throttle Advance Cam 3M3637180M is for serials above 71412 and says It will not work on serial numbers below 71413.
I couldn't find one for my serial number range. Can my 9.9d be converted?

My serial # is 70323,

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks,
Mike

Order 362637180M from any dealer, including me. This part is used to convert 9.9 D2 models down with serial numbers lower than 71413. It will not work on serial numbers above 71412.

Thanks for the info I will be ordering one. You say I can order from a dealer including yourself, what is your website called?

You can drop me an email: paul@obersheimersails.com, or call 716-877-8221; our site, obersheimersails.com, doesn't detail the thousands of Tohatsu parts.

Thanks Paul I just got back in town and still deciding if I should change it out or not. Will I have to do anyting else to it or just change out the cam arm like changing the timming any. Yesterday I went out and reached 20 mph how much of a increase should I expect from the changes?

You would need to confirm the timing any time you have the throttle cam off. Specs are in the Factory service manual. Since you will be adding more than 50% power, there will be some top end speed increase, but you will notice more of an increase in the thrust (acceleration, towing) and operation in rough water.
