Correct Oil/Fuel Mixture

I recently bought a boat with a 1988 90hp Johnson TLC that was rebuilt in 1995. The serial number is R7809058. The seller says that he has been running the mixture at about 40:1, and I was thinking that it should be 50:1. Could you give me the correct ratio?<br />Thanks

Welcome PD2!!!!<br />OMC recommended 50:1 with TC-W3 oil. You may want to decarb this motor well if it's seen 40:1 for some time.<br />Good Luck

Thanks for the welcome and the information. I didn't think 40:1 sounded right.
