I have an "89" 88hp Evinrude and wanted to install a water pressure gauge. The dealership sold me a unit that is for 1993 and Later Evinrude/Johnson Models. It is a 60 PSI gauge and I think I need a 30 PSI gauge. Will it work on my engine or should I return it and try and find the correct one?

My experience with the V4s is that you will get a reading of 5-10 lbs with the engine in the water (not on the hose) and 15-23 lbs with the boat up on plane with a good water pump. I have never seen one go over 25 lbs - - soooooo swap the 60 for a 30.
