Hi Team.

I had this prop (13 7/8" dia x 17" pitch) put on my motor recently - Johnson 110HP 1989 2-stroke.

It's WOT operating range is 4500-5500 RPM - as per manual.

I do not have a tacho so I do not know what WOT I am actually pulling.

WIll this prop allow me to achieve 5200 RPM at WOT?

WIll it kill my engine and woul it cause overheating?

with out a tach to tell what you have, no one can answer this.

THanks Daddy.

I'll ask another way.

How do I select a suitable prop for an outboard with WOT range of 4500-5500RPM to power a boat of 900kg?

Asking the question another way doesn't eliminate the need to know what RPM the current prop allows the engine to turn. Without some sort of baseline any recommendation is just a crap shoot. You can spend a bill & a half or more on a prop and still not know if its right. You need a tach. $50 bucks and an hour of time gets you one. Then make sure your engine is properly tuned -- and that doesn't mean just change the plugs. If the engine is not making full power a new prop will only mask the problem. Give us some data to work with and we can help you.

I know this is frustrating for you CH1968 but like has been said, we need to know RPM you are turning, even telling us the boat wieght does not help because there are too many other variables such as hull type.

Put it this way- what you are asking here is like going to the doctor and telling him you have pain but not telling him specifically where it is.
