I have purchased a 1989 Welcraft Elite 220 XL and am wondering if the prop is correct. The person I purchased the boat from is shady in nature and the boat seems slower than when I test drove it (the seller had the boat for several days after I gave him a deposit) I am wondering if he didn?t switch props on me. Im pretty sure he changed the up limits on the trim because the trim up no longer functions (Worked fine during the test drive) I can trim up using the trailer button.
We will be using the boat on a calm inland lake for some light tubing skiing wakeboarding and generally blasting around.
1989 Welcraft Elite 220 XL 23' 8' beam
3600 lbs
With the trim down 46 MPH @ 4600 RPM
As I bring up the trim I see 53 MPH at 5200 RPM (I stoped at 5200 but the prop seemed to be holding at that RPM)
Bravo 1 out drive
Mercruser 496 CID (Balanced Stroker Kit)
Mild camshaft, Oval port heads, 3 angle valve job, port matched street dominator single plane intake forged pistons Modified Q-Jet
350-400HP EST
Current prop Quicksilver 3 blade Stainless Part # 48 13700 A40 19P (Has Seaebold Props engraved on it looks like it may have ben cuped a bit)
