i have a 16' fish and ski ('89 invader) and i do both. i have a merc 3 litre 4 cyl, 140 HP and wanted to know which smart tabs i should get, either:

sx 9510-60 for 15'-19'boat and 60-140 hp
or
sx 9510-80 for 16'-20' boat and 150-225 hp

you see, i'm at the limit of my 140 hp engine and wanted to know if i should go up to the next size? thx, pete.

Use the SX9510-60 or the ST1290-60. Do not use the -80's as this will cause the boat to run bow down at cruising speeds. If you have a hydrofoil on the drive unit - remove it, do not run both the Smart Tabs and a hydrofoil.

If you buy the SX9510-60 set the Pressure adjustment in hole #2 and take it out for a sea trial.

Let us know if you need any other help.
