correct thermostat

my question is what degree thermostat to use in salt water raw water cooled i have an 1984 5.7 litre engine 800 stringer drive in a sea ray express cruiser i have gotten different opinions from different boat repair shops also what is a perfectly normal operating temp after warm up of course thanks in advance

A 160deg t-stat came standard in that package, and 180ish at full throttle not out of line.

just to mention i just replaced the manifolds and my temp before never ran above 160 at full throttle but you say 180 is ok huh?
