Now that i have my powerhead apart and have to buy gaskets, aso, might as well check the thermostat.

My thermostat is marked 50 degrees ( must be celsious, here in europe, it is belgium made )

In the manual under tightening cylinderhead, it says to retighten after first run, when powerhead can be touched comfortable. I have always been able to hold my hand on cylinderhead, even after long times w.o.t. ( a bit colder than slowspeed in fact ) Is my thermostat to cold type ??

Inch/metric !!! You must have a hard time with the yammies and metric - i spent a part of my retirement savings getting inch tools - not so bad - there are not so manny different sizes on the motors - nice !
