I've been working on a few salty outboards lately and it brings to mind that I've seen some adds for "salt neutralizers"
somewhere in the recent past. I think warm soapy water followed up by a good drying and apply wax and lube in appropriate places, and anywhere you can, might be the best way to go. MY QUESTION IS Does anyone have more knowledge or a better idea about this? Happy boating.

Re: corrosion and salty engines

Salt is easily water soluble so I have a feeling that most of these things are little more than snake oil. I buy a cheap can of "battery terminal spray" to spray electrical connections on the motor and anything that gets exposed to spray a lot but that's about it other than a good rinsing after every use in salt.
