I am in the market to get my 16 foot silverline repainted. Can anybody tell me an average cost for a professional paint job? the boat would be striped down to the hull before it goes. Just looking for a general idea, like would it cost $500 or $5000. Also, if anybody can recomend a painter around south/central pa or ne maryland, I would be greatfull. thanks in advance.

Try an autobody shop for an estimate.

Going Up from there of course...........

Good Quality Ureathane Paints start at about $100.00@gallon,......
And you'll need Atleast 1......

I really wish i had my paint job done, just to many other distraction's going on in life now. I know this isnt spefic to you thread but i will share this with you, yourself can put on a first class finish for about $300.00 dollars It is a bit labor intensive, but most of it just entail's roughing up the old gel coat cutting off the old surface.

From there i can say its really all down hill. One can get a HPlV sprayer for the shooting.......( Interlux makes a paint that is self leveling and using just a little care anyone can achieve professional results) ...both the primer's and the main body paint take very little time to shoot and sand down time. I personally used Brightsides and i cannot say enough about it.........its amazing

The take down is far more work that the refinishing job it's self............lol enough of this rant, just a thought it really is easy and the reward's are very cool.

Other than that id say 2500-5000 Ohhh and if you do it yourself .........it may be a little pain but you will be able to maintain that finish (nick's scratches etc.) for years for a mear pittance.
