that's tough to read but it sounds like you didn't get the driveshaft lined up correctly, try again with someone helping you keepin an eye on the alignment.

McGill, whats with capitalizing every single word in your post? kind of makes it hard to read.

anyway...Assuming you have everything correct and you just can get your lower unit back on correctly I would think $100-$200 would cover it? just guesssing though really without knowing exactly what you got going there....I like to joke that my mechanic has a magic number of $700...whatever I take it in for the bill always comes out around $700. have a friend that uses him too...$700 every time....

Sounds like you're almost done with your water pump impeller replacement, be sure you have your motor control in "neutral' position, then be sure your splined shifter shaft on your lower unit is in "neutral", grease all splines, slide that sucker up in there, put in a bolt to hold in place and check for shifter operation, if it's right, then bolt it together. Might help to get a buddy to help with drive shaft alignment while during re-assembly. There's a site called"bogueinletnc.com/yamaha" that gives detailed instructions with photos for water pump replacement that might help you. Good luck and let us know how you do!

He typed it in all caps. That's what iboats does to it. No idea why though.

Sounds like the shift linkage is not connected or not aligned properly

Before you put the remaining bolts back in, make sure the prop shaft turns freely to ensure that the shift rod did not move while you were sliding the unit back on. If it does not spin freely, or if you hear a "clicking" sound, the shift rod is out of alignment and you will need to remove the lower unit, adjust the rod, and re-install the lower unit. When the shift rod is in the NEUTRAL position, the prop should spin FREELY.
