Hard to say.<br /><br />To me 'sneeze' and 'spits' are a problem heard at the carb.'Backfire' is from the exhaust.'Cough' could be just a minor quirk.<br /><br />We do need a common vocabulary though.Some posts say 'nothing happens when I turn the key' and later add 'it just keeps cranking'Or 'it doesnt catch' and later 'it only runs 20 minutes'.<br /><br />DHP
A sneeze, cough or spit refers to air or fuel & air coming out the throat of the carb(s). A backfire is just like on a car, the loud bang coming out the exhaust. (Unburned fuel ignites in the exhaust path)
