I'm sorry, I had to steal that title from that other thread, as I just love this article!!! Tell me it's true, tell me it's time for us to finish what THEY started!!!

"The Pentagon has drawn up plans for massive airstrikes against 1,200 targets in Iran, designed to annihilate the Iranians? military capability in three days, according to a national security expert in Sunday?s edition in the Times of London."

Yea that made me scratch my head too, I wasn't quite sure who that was. I must admit, I've never heard of him.

Junior's been posturing to invade Iran for months if not years. I hope he puts you Neocons in the front line. ;)

So what do we do to stabilize Iran after Junior flies onto an aircraft carrier and claims victory, use the rousing success of Iraq as a model?

Iran isn't our problem and he would only do it to stop Iran's nuke capabilities. If you read the article (which I doubt you did, but you may have) it mentioned that it's pointless to do a simple pinpoint strike on their nuke facilities as they will respond the same way to a full scale attack or a pinpoint strike, so you mine as well cut off the head of the snake rather than just step on it a few times.

It said nothing about sending in ground troops. No ground war whatsoever, so no worries about having to fix up the country after. Hopefully, no American boot will ever touch Iranian soil. It would be similar to what your buddy Billy did to Iraq in 1998 without the approval of the UN.

I read it. You haven't learned anything from recent history. It was supposed to be easy, remember? Are the Iraninas going to greet us with palm branches and roses like Dicky said they would in Iraq? The one lesson we all should have learned from Iraq is that this administration has no clue whatsoever regarding the aftermath of "victory".

It would be terribly irresponsible to NOT have a "what do we do if. . . " plan. I would expect that there are plans on how to deal with Venezuela, for example, if. . . ..

I wonder what the plan is if Mexico invades, JB

OOPS, too late. They already have, and without firing a shot!

Apparently there's no plan at all 'cept to greet them with palm branches and roses. ;)

Re: Could this be the end of Iran?

Anyone think this might have been floated as a message to our good friends and poor helpless country Iran, to stop encouraging terrorism? I know, that isn't taking things at face value, but I will try to stay within the box going forward.

I would have to think this is nothing more than a message, and since President Bush is over in Iraq, wouldn't it just seem to be more than interesting timing for this to be in the world discourse?

Probably. I'm pretty sure military officials have a plan to destroy every type of target worldwide. That's their job.

Would that be why FNC's ratings blow away every other news network? Because the American people enjoy a 30% accuracy?

Well then I guess the MSM must be at about 5% considering their horrid ratings.

Behind all of the heated rhetoric, there is something called "Backdoor diplomacy", because we don't really talk to terrorists; we talk at them.

What I don't get is the reason FOX wishes to out W's strategies. Or, should I begin to call them al FOX? I thought it was only those other alphabet types that want to destroy America. Now, based on what you rehubs have said about NYT et al and their patrons, you supporters of FOX must want to destroy America as well.

If the Times published this, you would all be screaming about it, yet somehow, you choose to overlook it when al FOX says it. Things that make you go hmmmm.

JB - is FOX made up of "air headed libs"?
