ive always had a smaller aluminum boat,,,,im restoring a bigger fiberglass boat,,,and im not sure what this tube and this flange button with a spring is?they come out of the boat in the back,,,,,the tube runs thru the transom,,,cant see where the other thing goes,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,thank you

It looks like it was a speedo but broke off. you could replace it with a new one. does your boat have gauges if not i'm not sure what that is.

+1 It is the pitot tube for the speedometer. Looks like it had a wheel driven speedo. You can replace those, but they still aren't very accurate for the most part.

It is definitely NOT a paddle wheel speedometer pickup. It definitely IS a pitot pickup for the speedometer and it is broken. the hose barb is still in the tube and pickup itself is broken off. Only the mount remains. You need a new one and they are available right here on iBoats for just a couple of bucks.
