I have a newly acquired 2000 Oceanpro 150 hp with a counter rotation bottom end. The Clymer shop manual I bought covering this engine indicates that it is not recommended to operate one engine with counter rotation. I gave this engine a short trial on my boat and must say I was quite impressed. Granted, on the day i trialled the engine the seas were quite rough and i may not have noticed any problems as readily as in calm conditions. Can anyone tell me why Clymer would indicate such a caution?

When you said Clymer you said it all. Go run it and use the Clymer manual to start wood fires with or replace the old Sears catalog in you outdoor john with it.

I get the feeling you don't like Clymer! Actually a number of posts on other sites indicate that using a counter rotation engine alone causes no problems and the voices of experience will always satisfy me. Thanks for your response; it is appreciated.

As the other sites said, using a cr as a single mtr will cause no probs. I have driven a number of them and saw no probs.
