Okay not too much information here but I have a couple CL links thought I post and ask you all what you think about the two. I have one already very similar to the larger Sea Ray. In fact almost identical except drive, so I was considering picking up a smaller boat and/or go with the larger one and sell mine maybe. I don't think I really want to get rid of my boat but with it having a OMC stern drive its tempting. Just wanted to ask everyone what they thought of these boats.

Keep in mind the smaller one has current registration as for what I know, it is sitting on a trailer size for a 23' so it doesn't quite fit properly but I can mod it to fit better. Has a Mercury 350 Inboard and a Mercruiser Sterndrive.

The larger Sea Ray I can't get much info from guy he wrote me e-mail back last night said he is out of town until August 7 on family matters so he will contact me when he returns. I did e-mail him back asking some questions so maybe he will respond. I don't like how he claims a bunch of stuff done to it then have a photo showing sticker from 2005, so either older photo and he has current stickers or it really has been out of water since then and not sure about that. Again the smaller boat is turn key and ready to go. I will go look at smaller one Saturday already arranged it if he does not sell beforehand.

1978 SeaRay 240 - Flybridge Sedan - Really nice & Really Fun!

Above Larger one

21ft Searay cuddy with trailer

smaller one (Obvious) lol I have someone who is willing to pay me cash for my boat Saturday above the price of what these guys are asking so I can dump mine if I decide to and go with a current or easier to find parts for engine.

Re: Couple Boats

They both seem a bit too cheap to me for trying to sell them at the beginning of August.

I would see about making sure there is no water damage in the hull.

Re: Couple Boats

First one is a bit old for my personal taste but as stated, priced to move.
2nd one to me is the one I'd be chasing, looks like it was cared for. Provided they aren't rotted out like most boats of that age, I'd say you have a very nice suspect.

We have owned two 24ft Searays in the past and they were great riding boats, that being said, I don't think a bridge on a 24ft boat is very safe. The boat is really going to rock in choppy water.

Okay thanks everyone, but lakegeorge I would add that its built that way so it may rock in rough waters but if it were designed that way from the factory then I'm sure it is fine. My 24.5 SeaRay has a flybridge and it handles just fine. The only reason I would be considering selling like I said is to part with my OMC setup and get into a Merc knowing that they have by far better parts collection if needed. I don't know though feeling like I should hang on to my boat but it does need it's fair share of work just like all boats. Tempting.........

I don't know if any of you are from California but even if things are priced to sell there are ones like this all over the place out here. If it is salt water it has been in then the water if any in the hull will be good since it is Sea Water. I will check for rot and such as much as I can. I was leaning towards the second choice too because it is a bit smaller and more ideal for my family and I. I have three young kids but I also don't want a boat where I will need more room later.

I like the 21' Cuddy myself. Styling looks nicer, and its 8 years younger. Obviously its so hard to tell with just pictures.

I will keep you all posted, the guy wanting to buy my 24.5' is coming at 9:30 Saturday all goes well I will sell and off to look at smaller Searay. Te other larger one I can go see too but my problem is boat is located almost two hours away and the smaller one is only 30 mins. So I will take my shot at smaller one first and if I don't like it off to get a good look at larger one. Both boats owners said they are flexible on price which I like but depends on what's wrong with them. Thanks for your support all of you and will post my outcome after Saturday!
