I am working on a mc1 and there is about a 1/8 inch of up and down movement in the gimbel ring to housing. Seems like alot of play. Is something worn out? I read about adding washers to get rid of play. what should I do to correct it. Also my trim limit wires rotted off. Is it possible to attach new wires to the old switch because I see that they don't sell new ones anymore.
Last question I read that in the lower unit there should be a stainless washer on top of gear selector rod. Either I lost it or there was not one there. Can I just use a standard stainless washer there.
