coupler change

whats up all havent been on in awhile, need some info, i have a 86 glasstream with a 120 merc i/o. the coupler striped on me and i went and bought a new one it is the round type that bolts in the middle of flywheel, however when i pulled the old one it is the old type that looks like a triangle. will these interchange. i bought the boat used 5 years ago and the owner said at the time it had just been rebuilt could they have put the wrong one on?

Ayuh,.. I'd think an 86 would be the triangler 1....
The little rubber donut 1 was used in the Model 1 drivess...

I think it'll be too Short...

thanks bond o i went out and put the new one on after measuring the old one front flywheel face to end of coupler. these measure almost identical the new one is about 3/16th longer.

dont forget the special spline grease and alignment.
