I'm having what I believe is a prop slippage problem in a '96 Baja with a 454 Magnum Bravo One.

I've searched the posts but have not been able to confirm that this is my problem.

Occassionaly when I'm coming out of the hole the rpm's increase perfectly fine but the boat crawls until I back off of the throttle and try it again. It's as if it were a car spinning on ice.

I think that I may have smelled burnt rubber as Don S. mentioned but am not sure.

This has happened once in a while for the past few years. Ususally when I have a loaded down boat. (A bunch of fat chicks!)

Thoughts?

If you have a coupler, that's what you're sniffin, but most late Bravo's have clutch's, which still slip under torque. Could be some grease in the clutch burning to give you the smell. Maybe someone with a little more savvy on Bravo's will chime in.
