I pulled the power head off of the spare motor I acquired and noticed a small crack at one of the bolt holes. PO mentioned that the bolt was stripped (the one in picture is not original, the guy tried to put in a "longer" one...) so I thought I'd have a look before I re-tapped and found this crack. It's just on the bottom not near any water jacket so would it be worth having welded or not even worry about it....(90hp '81 johnson). Can't see any evidence so far of water in motor, rust in cylinders or around crank but I'll pull the heads and exhaust cover to make sure. Compression is 120 on all 4 cylinders, checked myself and the motor does run.
Thanks.
Thanks.
