Crack in crankcase after driving out taper pin wrong way on 1974 Johnson 50

So I screwed up royally driving out the taper pin the wrong way and a small crack formed on the boss as seen in the pics. Anything I can do here? JB weld? Do I really need to do anything as its not a stressed area? Thanks for any insight!

Check the mating surfaces are still flat and parallel after the pounding.

yeah dont worry too much as you say its not in a highload area and its well in from the seal, just do as suggested above

It's on the outside edge, well away from the spaghetti seal area. I think you'll be fine... As noted above, check for distortion to make sure it didn't throw things out of whack.
