My 140 mercruiser is leaking on the top left of the ingine. Right where the exhaust manifold meets the block. Might be where the the water manifold (?) is. To the best of my knowledge, there is no water in the oil. Do you think it is a cracked block or a blown gasket?

Re: Cracked Block???

In this case,.... A Clear Picture would Really Help.....

The Good Thing might be that it continues to run Without dumping Water into the Oil......

The Odds are that if this motor lives in an area that Does see Cold Weather,.... It's Cracked.....

The only Gasket in that area of the Motor that holds back Water, is the Headgasket,......
And those motors Aren't known to Do That....

That leaves the Block,+ the Manifold, which Are Very Susceptible to Cracking in that area of the motor......

A Close Inspection,... Running preferably, is the Only Way to Really Know........
A Crack will leave Rust Tracks,.............

It's probably cracked just under the head and manifold. Grind off the paint and epoxy it. It can last for years. Marine Tex works best. Other products work, bot don't last as long.

Re: Cracked Block???

Not to sure what your question is but think about possibly a bad exhaust riser where the manifold attaches to the riser is a gasket which often goes bad. I recently had a riser which corroded and was leaking water back into the exhaust manifold dripping water all the way into the crankcase.
Take this for what it's worth....
