Cracked head or exhaust leak ?

posted September 20, 2003 07:57 PM <br />--------------------------------------------------------------------------------<br />I was out on the water and noticed that after the boat had been idling for a while when I excelerated hard I heard this sound coming from the right side of the engine. It sounded like an exhaust leak. It seemed as if I lost a little bit of power out of the hole. With the out drive disengaged (4.3 Cobra, 86'), I could barely hear this sound at low rpms and could not hear it above 1200 rpms or so. Any of you guys got any ideas ?

Pull the spark plugs and do a compression test.<br /><br />TMD
