OK... im retarted. I stepped on my hatch while cleaning the bow and it cracked.. like the whole length of the hatch, big crack down the middle.

How can i replace this without replacing the whole thing? Like just the plastic peice.

The one i cracked is white and you cant see through it. I really wanted something you could see through, like clear or smoked, but see through.

Anyone have any info? Thanks!

I'm not the expert in this area, but I would probably start by asking glass shops in your area if they might have something that would work. Something that is highly shatter resistant and see-through. They can usually tint about any type of window.

Hmmm....sounds like something that could happen again, eh? How about replacing the existing plastic with something like 1/4" smoke colored plexiglass, even if you have to construct a new frame?

That would be strong enough to stand being stepped on. I see this happening again sometime, and you might as well fix it so it won't break.

Just a thought!

to do it right you going to need a new hatch which is not cheep

but it cost a lot less than water dammage from a leaky bandaid and looks a lot better to

tommays

dammit, was trying to get around not spending over $100, i'll consult my local glass shop about doing a smoked plexi replacement... the frame is fine, no leaks there, just the damned plastic.

Re: Cracked my hatch!

I cracked my Bomar hatch and was able to get a replacement from them(spendy). Included instructions for replacement that made it easy. Next time I'll go to Tap Plastics, a retail outfit in Portland, Oregon that sells and fabricates different types of plastic products for do-it-yourselfers and businesses alike. Cheaper! You may find a similar business in your area.
