cracks in gel coat

I have an 1978 galaxy tri hull that has many spider web cracks in top side surfaces some of these maybe opened up an 16th of an inch. I have polished alot of the lower parts of the boat but need an way to deal with these cracks. thinking of sanding down flat. Then filling voids with resin then priming and finally painting is there another way that would be easier?

crazyray,if you are planning on painting,use a old beer can opener.Run it down each crack to open them up,then sand,fill it with resin or gelcoat,sand it down to match,then paint!
