Cracks in gelcoat...

I was noticing that I have some hairline cracks in my gelcoat, but they look like they are only on the surface.
Is there a procedure to have this repaired? I am contemplating having it done after the summer, but wanted to know my options.
The boat is a 91 model, so I don't know how much money to put into a repair such as this. I would rather keep it than pass it on to someone else!
If I have these on the top side of the boat, should I be concerned about similiar cracks underneath???

Re: Cracks in gelcoat...

Hard to tel without seeing them but I bet those are what many called spider cracks. They are surface cracks in the top surface of the gelcoat usually caused by stress - - like bumping into a dock. If that is what you have they are very common and are nothing to be concerned about. Keep a good coat of wax on it & don't give it another thought.
