Cracks or runs in finish.

I have a ['78 Glastron 16.5] The white finish (especially on the bow and transom) have cracks in the finish. Is there an easy way of restoring these somewhat and if I don't, is there a danger of water seeping in and doing damage. Also some cracking in finish around the washers that hold the outboard on. Is this bad? Can I use larger washers?

These spider web like cracks are usually just surface cracks in the top layer of the gel coat and cause no problem. I would use a good paste wax & forget about them.
