 I have a 1999EE Evinrude 4 stroke 70 hp. I want to change the oil. There is a drain plug on the port side cowling just in front of the flushing port. It is some sort of specialty star or allen type affair. At any rate, I don't have anything that comes close to fitting and the wrench size is not specified in either of my manuals. Local Evinrude dealer says they don't know or care about anything over 10 years old. Can anyone here identify the part # and/or name the wrench, size, etc so I can get on with the show? I'd be grateful for any help!

Boy, that must be some Evinrude Dlr. Stay away from him. Call BRP customer service at 1-262-884-5993 and talk to them and I'm sure you'll get an answer. I used to work on those mtr's but can't remember the size of the wrench. It's either an allen or star wrench.

Got lucky...After I posted, I was pawing in frustration through a pile of stuff and found a 6mm allen...It fits. I thought I'd tried the metrics. I guess I missed the one I needed. Thanks for responding/BRP #.

Yes it is a metric hex allen head. It is metric because this is a motor built by Suzuki. Just in case you didn't already know.
