cranks but wont fire

88 ski supreme, inboard 351 windser.

Pulled the boat out the other day to start getting ready for spring. When I try to start it it cranks fine but never even tries to start. Used some starting spray and changed ignition coil and still doesnt seem to be getting spark at all. Was running fine when winterized and put away.

The ignition points are most likely corroded/rusted. Common.

In the distributer cap. I would suggest you talk to someone local who has a little knowledge in this area.

well thats where I thought they were, at least on a car. Have done them before on a car so will have a look.

Same-o same-o. start at .19 gap and check dwell from there.

Everything checked good. Actually still looked new. Only has one season on complete rebuild.

Their faces corrode,.. you can't see it... file 'em....

btw,... Testing is cheaper than throwing parts at it with No idea what's wrong...

Get a DMV, 'n Check the circuit...
Power to the coil,..??
Ground at the points,..??

Start with the basics and go from there. Bond-o has the right answer check check and recheck. A volt ohm meter is your friend!
