I was going fishing one Saturday morning The launch was about 45 miles away from home. My next door neighbor was to bring his boat and meet me at the launch. I leave before him and am waiting at the launch about 45 minutes when a tow truck pulls up at the launch with a boat and trailer on the flat bed part. (The boat is my neighbor's.) The tow truck backs up to the launch and proceeds to launch the boat. About then my neighbor pulls up in his truck and tells me the whole story. On his way to the launch he ran over a loose manhole cover in a small town he was passing through. The manhole cover popped up and rolled under his trailer and crashed into his boat axle, snapping in in half. The police of the town acknowledged the town was probably at fault and offered to tow his boat and trailer to wherever he wanted to go. I guess most of us would have gone back home but not my neighbor. He went fishing. Even a broken axle couldn't keep him down. A true fisherman. Getting the boat home. Well that's another story
