I did a little research in regards to crazing and found out it you fix the divots and cracks and sand smooth you can put a layer of resin on it. It appears to work pretty well but I found out if you go over the resin again similar to the dry brush technique it will smooth out the bumps a bit so there is less sanding.
It really makes the fiberglass solid. I am still working on it but seems to be doing well. If my hardware was not such a PITA to take off I would have done it.
