crazy stereo

the stereo on my boat have been acting up lately, it's a sony with an 8 channel amp for all the speakers and the speakers like to turn off, i will have A speaker going but not all, then this past time out on the water, someone hit the horn button then all the speakers fired up..... bad ground? any info might help in which way to search out what's wrong.

When mine did exactly that same thing, I chased it for years and years, never could figure it out, ended up just ripping it all out and threw the lot in the trash.

Wish I would had figured that from the start, would have saved me time and wasted money not chasing ghosts. I just use ear buds now.......Makes more sense anyway since the open boat never did have as good as fidelity as my earbuds/headphones do.....

I was having an issue similar, but without the horn problem you described. Turns out my wiring was corroded, pulled new wires to the towe speakers from amp, problem solved!
