So The weather is supposed to get to 32 degrees tonight and then shoot back up to lows of 40's then 50's from then on. A Freak cold snap for this area. It's starting to **** me off.

I have the Alpha 1 Gen II sterndrive. I ran it yesterday so it is filled with nice cool clean water ...what are my (safe) options for tonight?

Re: Crazy temperatures...

Hey thank you man. I did drain the water out and I believe I do have a single point drain system (someone tell me if this is the two blue cables connected by a black lever on the top of the engine). Not sure how to work the lever yet, but I just popped the snaps and both drain holes began-a-flowin'.

I called my local Stingray dealer just to check...he said to put a single light in the engine compartment overnight that night. I am outside, in a locked up boatyard far away from electric. I could pull it up to the house that night but it is difficult to do for a few reasons. I just drained all the water, totally easy...messy but easy.

Now does anyone know what that small black handle is between the two blue tubes?

You can use it to help push the detached ends to the bottom of your bilge.

I have never needed to use the handle...just grabbed the two hoses, and positioned them lower than the block....
