Crestliner warranty on pontoons

We have a 1993 Crestliner 24' pontoon boat that took on a lot of water over the summer (August). The pontoons are still under warranty (20 years I think). Anyway, the dealer that sold it to us paid (and was reimbursed by Crestliner) to weld some big cracks in the tops of the pontoons. We considered this to be a temporary solution because we needed the boat for incoming relatives and we didn't want to lose any marina time that we had already paid for. Crestliner also told us that they were in the process of moving their plant to Indiana and couldn't produce any replacement pontoons until September when they got settled. We hadn't heard any news from the dealer about the replacement pontoons and when we called last week they sounded like they didn't even remember the problem. I'm wondering if we are going to have a problem getting new pontoons. Has anyone had their Crestliner pontoons replaced under warranty? Any advice? I don't want to settle for some big old ugly welds and future weld failures when it is still under warranty.

Re: Crestliner warranty on pontoons

We don't have to many Crestliners around where I live since there are no dealers close by. I own a 1998 model and had no idea that they might have a 20 year pontoon warrantee. I would keep notes of the dates and times that I called and follow up regularly until they make it right. If you don't mind could you send me the contact info for Crestliner pontoons and do you know if the warantee is transferable? I don't need it now, but it would be nice to know. Hopefully they will resolve this for you soon.

It's possible they don't remember it. Give them the benefit of the doubt but don't let them off the hook. Be pleasantly persistent and they'll make it right. Be sure to keep us posted as someone will find the input useful. That's why we're here after all. Welcome to iboats.
