Is there any difference between the caged rod bearings and the loose rod bearings?
The engine I have has both , after the experience with the repair shop that initially did the work .
I am thinking this is more of the things they scrimped on.

you pop out the old bearing out of the cage and put in the new bearing in the same cage,,,,saves about 100.00...took about 30 mins. to do my v-4....... the end on the crank has the cage the piston end has no cage....

Okay.
Next is it ok to have both, or do I need to go with one or the other?
Thanks Tony

Correct. They are interchangeable.

Wrist pin bearings are not caged.
