Crossflow Parts help

Hi there once again. I have a 1979 85 hp evinrude I want to squeeze more power out of. I have been told by some of you to get some 140 carbs, bubble back exhaust, aftermarket reeds, and intake stuffers.
Ok, I was able to track down everything but the intake stuffers. Any idea where I can find some stuffers from an old 140?
Am I on the right track here or am I creating a ticking time bomb??

Contact Boat Recyclers of Wilmington. They advertise on ebay. They have a huge marine engine salvage business and probably have what you need.

Will be all for naught if you dont open up/raise the exhaust ports to 115/140 spec's.....if you dont you will have a poor performing motor that eats fuel.

Open up the exhaust ports on the heads or block?
