Crossflow Recirculation System

I have a 115 Johnson crossflow outboard motor and don't under the purpose of the recurculation system.<br /> What does it do? How does it work?

Crossflows don't have a recirculation system

Walker -- Yes they do. Page 2-37 or the shop manual show the hose routing. I just rebuilt a 115 Johnson and it has them.<br />The part number of the OMC manual is 500610 if you want to look it up.

It has to do with burning off the fuel that puddles in the intake. I strongly suspect that when these first appeared it had a lot to do with the EPA.
