I own a 2003 Crownline 202 BR. My past 2 trips to the lake, the engine has quit while running. On both occasions, I had spent numerous hours on the lake, running miles and miles. Both times, once while throttling up and once while idling, the engine simply died. The first time, I sat for approximately 45 minutes before it would recrank and then no issues as I went to trailer up. The next time, I sat for 45 minutes to an hour and ultimately had to get towed in. One mechanic told me that due to the heat (105 heat index both days) that it was possible that the gas was vaporizing and this caused the problem. Is this feasible? Are there any other possible issues?

If you stopped and floated for a bit, and then this happened upon restart then it could be vapor lock. For it to be vapor lock your motor would have to be EFI, my guess it is (you didn't say).

Now if you where running and then idling, and did not stop, then no this would not be vapor lock
