I was going to change the fuel line to my tank in my 2002 Crownline 225 CCR but I can't figure out how the carpeted plywood cut out in the floor comes off. Does anyone know? There's no visible screws just a big carpeted square with a 60 gallon tank under it.

Mine had invisible screws. Reinell screwed down the deck, then gelcoated over them. Maybe a magnet or a cheap little compass might find them.

Thanks, good idea but if they are stainless screws like the rest in the boat they aren't magnetic. I might have to peel the carpet up around the edges to find them. Maybe even put some vinyl marine flooring over the big hatch lid when I'm done if I ruin the carpet. Flathead screws will be visible when I'm done for next time, for sure.

Something doesn't sound right!

You should be able to access all fuel tank fitting without cutting or breaking anything.
The manufacturer should have provided access panels to all the tanks fittings; Especially in a boat as new as a 2002.

Look closer! ;)

I'll try tomorrow to get my fat head down closer in the bilge. :(

Have you really looked around the hatch? My screws are there but I have to rub the carpet around to find them. I could see them the first year but after that they just kind of "disapeared" into the carper and I really have to search on my hands and knees to find them now.

I found out I have to take the hatch off to get to the lines, and I see some small slits that may have screws I will have to poke around with a screw driver. the carpet is so thick it's hard to see any screws.
