great photos, i have hundreds like these, but never been near a large ship or sub, those would be a treat to come so close to.

I left SoCal 7 years ago and dont get back that often.

I was lucky enough to have been part of an organization that held a private party dinner on the Midway..Awesome evening..

And yep, some of the sub pens ya cant get near without a Naval boat on top of ya..

I miss my home State..Thanks again for the pics!

Yeah cool shots. We love San Diego Bay. Spent the night down on the bay on Halloween. A year ago we sailed some 12 Meters around the bay for a work deal. It was great.

When I was 14 - 20 my best friend's dad dad a 36 ft. Roughwater setup for albacore. She was at Shelter Island and we went out a lot. Great place to boat for sure.

Nice shots.

Last October I was in San Diego for a trade show. I stayed at the Marriot right next to the expo center.

I was also on the Midway for a private dinner party. Tours and flight simulators and fireworks at the end of the night. It was very cool.

Great photos, especially the shot of clouds enveloping the Coronado Bay Bridge. My wife and I were there in October for the start of the Baja Ha Ha which is a cruising sailboat 'race' from San Diego to Cabo San Lucas. This year, 193 boats were entered. They paraded through San Diego harbor and then formed up off the coast in front of the Hotel Del Coronado for the official start. We were in our little runabout taking pictures of the boats as they set their spinnakers when all of a sudden, a dolphin jumped about 5 feet out of the water immediately adjacent to my wife's side of the boat. This was particularly impressive since our eye level was only about 3 feet above the waterline. We were actually looking at the belly of a 6-7 foot dolphin from our 14 foot boat. Two days later, one of the boats was sunk off the coast of Mexico as it sailed through a pod of blue whales. The boat collided with one of the whales, lost its keel, and sank in about 5 minutes.
