cuppler question

i have read alot of these post time and time again about couppler problems but i am so courious as to know what exactly a cuppler is and what it looks like and where is it located ,thanks

A coupler ,as the name implies "couples" the engine output to a drive shaft.
Usually found attached to the engine crankshaft or to the flywheel plate

...in the same location as either a clutch or torque converter in a car.

this is a flexible, torque rated device to directly engage your outdrive shaft with the flywheel, if too much torque needed to move it then it's supposed to slip/burn (renders unusable) to protect outdrive and the engine, kind of permanent flexible rubber clutch
