curiosity about a "new to me" 2001 15hp fourstoke tiller...

I recently bought a 2001 merc fourstroke 15. It had very little mileage on it and was well kept. It beats the pants off of my old 4hp johnson.

however, when I run it a full speed (and ONLY at full speed. 95% sounds great) I hear a slight knocking sound about every 1.5 second)


Should I be concerned about this? I've never run a fourstroke before so I'm not sure what I should be expecting here.


I suppose I should send it in to my local mechanic for a once over before I get too carried away with using it.

Well, the noise seems to have stopped. so I guess I don't need to worry.


anyway, this motor is awesome. Fourstrokes have the PERFECT trolling speed!
