How hard is it to change the cushing bushing on a 84 Johnson 90 hp?
and what all do I need to do the job? This will be my first time on doing
this. I don't really know anything on how to work on boat motors, but I
thought I would give it a try. I have worked on cars for 20 years but not
on boat motors.

I'll bite -- what's a cushing bushing? Do you mean the rubber hub in the prop?

Well, there's nothing behind the prop to absorb shock but there is a rubber hub in the prop. Unless you have a big press and the correct installation cones the best way is to take it to a dealer or a prop shop. Most prop shops deliver to dealers twice a week. A prop shop can press out the old hub and press in a new one. Really no big deal once you have the right tools. The hardest part is cleaning out the remains of the old hub.

Looks like I will have to take to a prop shop. I don't have a press.
Thank you for your answer.
