Does anyone know anything about the boats this company manufactured? I just purchased a tri-hull that I'm going to do a restore job on. The HIN # the first three characters are CFM (CUSTOM FIBERGLS MFG INC). A websearch only yielded that they went out of business in 1989. I believe the length of the boat is 15'3". I'm trying to find all specs on the boat, weight of boat, load (max persons), size of motor recommended. If anyone has any information or ideas on how I could find additional information it would greatly appreciated.

Hi fishin

allot of company's went out of business at that time.....some swallowed up by other bigger fish....like brunswick.....some just died.

info in the dead company's is really hard to find.....perhaps you could investigate the owners....and possibly find an e-mail addy.

but....a site called fiberglassics might be able to help....

also if you post pics of the boat.....we might be able to compare the hull to others...

allot of the moulds were traded or sold to other company's....so the hull might be on several different named boats....so we could use a similar boat to get the info you need.

but as far as the restoration goes......manufacturers information is rarely helpful in a restoration.....they wont have schematics...or a lay out....
the rule of thumb is to copy what is there and make it better stronger
