Custom trolling motor platform design?

I want to mount my bow mount trolling motor to the stern of my boat. I want to build a mounting bracket that can be removed and re-installed fairly easily.
I don't want it to ruin the cosmetics of the stern and want to keep it clean looking when the bracket is off.

I have a minn kota powerdrive and will be mounting it to the stern of my boat shown below.

Here is how I did it on my old boat but this was a permanet bracket. Wood board leveled to the stern. painted and bolted down. Red arrow is pointing to it.

Has anyone done this and or have any ideas on how to do this?

Thanks a lot

Have you looked into one of these mounting plates. I had one installed when I bought my boat so I could remove the trolling motor and secure it when I left the boat out. It works really nice, and is clean and durable.

edit: I just noticed that they were out of stock, but I am sure you can find one somewhere if they do not get them back in stock.

I will be using one of those as well but because of the shape/style of the stern I'm going to have to elevate the mount so I can bring the motor up and lock it in the horizontal position.

Thanks for the reply

imho, you are wasting your time and money. you will not be happy with a stern mount troller, the only option is to troll backwards with that boat. you will never control the boat with a stern mount.

I did not even think about the location not allowing it to store horizontal. Do you really need to lock it in the horizontal position or could you just raise the pole up so that it sits higher when you are not in the water. I know on mine you can just adjust the height and that might work for you. I am assuming you are not using this very much, that is an awful large boat to get moving with a troller.

I had this setup on my old boat and it worked ok. My wife doesn't want it mounted to the bow where she loves to sit. I already own the trolling motor and battery so no money spent there.
Also some of the lakes I fish on do not allow gas motors so I need to do something to get us around (very slowly obviously, LOL). But really sometimes its nice and relaxing just to troll around, no hurry and no noisey motor.

Thanks for the replies
